About Us
Our organization was created after 20+ years of short-term outreach trips to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation from the Minnesota and Chicago-land area.
Pine Ridge is one of the most over-reached areas in the world by short-term outreach and humanitarian trips, and yet, youth outcomes have remain unchanged on the Rez for 20+ years.
Local ministries and youth organizations struggle with burn-out and competition caused by these short-term teams, and yet often rely on them as a form of financial support.
Eagles’ Wings strives to find a more productive way to work with local ministries through our locally-led partnership model. We work directly with ministries that have been at the heart of youth outreach for 30+ years, and are working everyday to help achieve their vision for the Lakota youth.
Our mission is to connect the broader community to amazing youth organizations on the Rez.
Our current focus is partnering with faith-based schools and community churches who provide the following services to the Lakota youth:
Education or vocational training
Counseling and discipleship
Basic needs provision (food, hygiene, warmth, shelter)
We are proud to partner with local organizations that have demonstrated a commitment to the Lakota population and place an emphasis on meeting the full needs of the Lakota youth: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
